Rich in ancient culture and tradition, Peru is also home to imperial ruins of great civilizations, including the lost city of Machu Picchu and The Nasca Lines, an enigma of mysterious desert etchings. The Peruvian Andes provide unrivalled mountain trekking and cycling prospects for the adrenaline seeker, as well as the spiritual traveler seeking the teachings of a shaman. At the other end of the spectrum there is Lima, Peru's desert metropolis boasting some of the best nightlife, music, and museums in all of South America.

 

Itinerary

 

Day 01: Lima

On arrival at Lima International Airport, meet and greet with airport representative and transfer to your hotel. On arrival at hotel, check in to your room. Rest of the day is free at leisure. Stay overnight at hotel in Lima.


Day 02: Lima - Cusco (Sightseeing Tour and Visit to Nearby Ruins)

After early breakfast, check out from your hotel and to airport to board your flight to Cusco. On arrival at Cusco, meet and greet with airport representative and transfer to your hotel.After freshen up proceed for guided sightseeing tour in Cusco visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha. Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9 m / 30 ft high and weighing over 350 tons. Late evening return back to your hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Cusco.

Day 04: Cusco - Machu Picchu - Inca Trail

 

After early breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you by bus to the km 82 where you will arrive. Here you will meet the team that will join you during the trek, such as the porters, camp assistants and cooks. You will begin the walk, the first day is quite easy and during the first kilometres you will have a beautiful view of the snow peaked Veronica Mountain, walking alongside the Vilcanota River until you arrive at the Archaeological Complex of Patallacta, where you will have lunch and gain energy to reach Huayllabamba, where the first camp is set up. Stay overnight at hotel in Inca Trail.

Day 05: Inca Trail (Wayllabamba - Warmiwañusca - Pacaymayo)

After breakfast, the hardest part of the trail begins, with a steep ascent, followed by 3 hours walking until reaching the first step, Warmiwañusca called (Dead Woman), up to 4200 m.a.s.l. approximately. You will not only enjoy incredible panoramic views from here but you will also have the satisfaction to have reached the top. After lunch in Vizcachayoc we will descend towards Pacaymayo (3500 m.a.s.l.) for dinner and camp. Stay overnight at camp in Inca Trail.

Day 06: Inca Trail (Pacaymayo - Phuya Patamarka - Wiñay Huayna)


After breakfast the ascent will begin until the second more important step of the route, up to 3900 m.a.s.l., where you will enjoy a guided visit to the Archaeological Complex Runkurakay and the Inca Citadel of Sayacmarca (3600 m.a.s.l.). Lunch will be served at Chaqquicocha. Then, you will continue walking towards Phuya Patamarka Town in the Clouds), another important Archaeological Monument. After a brief rest, we will continue walking until arriving at Wiñay Huayna (Always Young), for a guided visit to this spectacularly located Archaeological Complex. Dinner will be served at your camp. Stay overnight at camp in Inca Trail

Day 07: Wiñay Huayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco

After breakfast, start walking for one hour by the forest until the Inti Punku (Door of the Sun), known like the front door to Machu Picchu, from where we will be able to have an impressive panoramic view of the Inca citadel. Upon arrival to Machu Picchu, you will have a guided tour of the ruins and monuments, such as the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. Enjoy the free time to stroll around the Citadel. Then meet the rest of the group to be transferred by bus to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon return to Cusco by train. Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to your selected hotel. Evening free. We recommend you to dinner out at any of the restaurants in downtown Cusco and stroll around the Main Square. Stay overnight at hotel in Cusco.

Day 08: Cusco (Day Free at leisure)


After breakfast, the day is free at leisure. Stay overnight at hotel in Cusco.

Day 09: Cusco - San Pedro


After breakfast, depart from Cusco to the town of San Pedro, where you will enjoy a tour of 4 hours of mountain bike, until arrive at Ajanacu, which is 3500 meters above sea level. On arrival at San Pedro, check in to your hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in San Pedro.

Day 10: San Pedro – Atalaya - Amazon


Early morning, go to the observation Cock of the Rock, emblematic Peruvian bird, which we can see a lot of these birds in their natural environment. In addition to being able to observe the males perform an elaborate dances to attract females. These dances are a bridal show, because you can see a group of several males performing dance and females resting on the branches watching them. Return to the lodge. In the afternoon we travel to Pilcopata, for river rafting in the path of Pilcopata to Atalaya, exciting sport where we raise adrenaline. Then we travel to the Amazon river by boat. On arrival at Amazon, transfer to your hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Amazon.

Day 11: Amazon

After breakfast, day is free at leisure. Enjoy the lodge facilities and the jungle watching birds, monkeys and others. Lunch and dinner will be served at your lodge. Stay overnight at hotel in Amazon.

Day 12: Amazon - Atalaya - Cusco.


After early breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Atalaya by boat. After that, take a private car to Cusco. On arrival at Cusco, transfer to your hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Cusco.

Day 13: Cusco - Lima

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed to airport to board your flight to Lima. On arrival at Lima airport, proceed to international terminal to board your flight homebound.
